Reclaimed Teak is naturally rich in oils and minerals, making it resistant to moisture, rot, insect activity, fungal decay, and mildew. This ensures that the cabinet is virtually maintenance-free while remaining strong and durable over time. Surface oil may be present on delivery, which will naturally dissipate within 7–10 days as the timber acclimatises.
Being a natural material, variations in colour, grain, and texture are to be expected, adding to the distinct character of each unit. Over time, the timber will develop the silver-grey patina characteristic of Teak, though periodic treatment can help preserve the original golden hue. Small cracks or checking may occasionally appear, especially on end grain, due to the unpredictable British climate, but these are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of your cabinet.
